Company Brief

The Hive of Activity is a small privately owned and funded childcare facility, that offers education and the best possible care to children aged 5 and under.

With 24 years' experience in Early Childhood Care and Education between us, we feel that we have filled what is a unique niche in the market, a place that falls between the intimacy of the individual Nanny and the often Institutional style of a traditional day-care. We have chosen a lifestyle rather than a job.

We are a team of four, consisting of two men and two women, all of whom are fully dedicated and passionate about ' The Hive' .

We have dedicated areas within our home specifically designed with the utmost quality of resources, to cater for the needs and interests of the children who attend. We provide these to scaffold the children' s learning within our environment, while working with and alongside them.

We enjoy taking the children upon a variety of adventures, both planned and spontaneous, local and Auckland wide, depending on their interests. Considering our ratio is less than one adult to 3 children, we always ensure the children' s safety, this is paramount to us.

We are more than fortunate to have Mount Eden Mountain as our back garden, with its Parks, Reserves and the wonderful stage; allowing us to take the children on bush walks, hikes and wagon rides.
We are proud of the success our children have had with our Transition to School program. Our graduates have been noted to be more than confident and with a high self-worth. We certainly believe children should always be heard and their questions be answered.
