{Filter Elements for Filter Presses}
LENSER ASIA is producing filter elements and accessories for filter presses, vacuum filters or related filtration devices, mainly made of thermoplastic materials such as Polypropylene (PP), Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE) or rubber (NBR, EPDM, VITON) and steel.

Major parts of a filter press is the frame, the hydraulic closing unit, the pack of filter elements and the filter cloth on the filter plates.

The filter elements form filter chambers between the plates. The slurry is fed through a feed port into the chambers. The liquid/solid separation takes place in a fist step at the filter cloth and shortly after in the filter cake. The filtration process itself is a batch process. The filter cake will be removed by opening the filter pack.

Membrane Filter Elements}

A membrane filter element allows squeezing the filter cake in the filter chamber in order to reduce the moisture content and to reduce the cycle times. With the additional process parameter squeeze time and pressure a membrane filter press is much more flexible compared to a standard press with only recessed plates.

For applications where filter cake washing is required, membrane elements achieve better washing results in a shorter time and with reduced wash water consumption compared to recessed plates or filter plates and frames.

For applications that require filter cake drying by air blowing (i.e. mining and metal refining) the membrane press reduces the consumption of air.

Typically the filter cake release is easier using membrane plates as the filter cake is equally dry in all chambers. This allows a more automatic operation with less interruption of operators.

{Recessed Filter Elements}

Recessed filter elements form a chamber in-between two solid plates. The filter cake is dewatered using the pressure of the feed pump.

Recessed plates are a very economic solution for most of the filtration applciation

{Accessories}

Filter elements are usually square, rectangular or round plates. To fit them into a filter press frame they usually need plate handles.
Depending on type of application and type of filter press the cloth cloth might need to be fixed with cloth clamping rings onto the plates.
The filtrate can be drained internally (closed discharge) or externally using spigots or outlet elbows (open drainage). Applications with filter cloth washing usually require sample valves to check the washing result before opening the press.
