As a private national bank, Bank Bukopin has served the banking public for well over three decades. Bank Bukopin was originally incorporated as a cooperative on July 10, 1970, under the name of Bank Umum Koperasi Indonesia ( abbreviated as BUKOPIN) . Among noteworthy events in the course of its history were the change of its name into Bank Bukopin in 1989, the change in its legal status into a limited liabilitiy company in 1993, and the granting of its foreign exchange license in 1997. Bank Bukopin was included into the Government' s banking recapitalization program in 1999, and became the first bank to successfully complete the program in 2001. With a sound financial condition and a solid balance sheet, the implementation of prudent banking principles, and an enhanced risk management capability, Bank Bukopin moves confidently ahead, making a real contribution towards a better future. | ||
