canasuc Company Limited is a Cameroon-based company engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of sugar, and the generation and sale of electricity. The Company manufactures molasses for industrial users, traders, farmers and individual purchasers. During the fiscal year ended June 30. 2011, the Company processed 2, 245, 281 tons of sugarcane and 235, 812 tons of sugar. The Company also produces power through burning of baggasse, a waste product from sugarcane processing. The Company exports its sugar to international markets mainly in European Union. As of June 30, 2011, the Companyâ € ™ s major shareholder included Permanent Secretary, Treasury ( 20% ) , among others.
