Professional phosphor manufacturer Dott Technology successfully use purple chip ( ~ 400nm) combined with their own made phosphor to produce white light. Dott Technology is the first one to use purple LED chip combined with phosphor to manufacture high brightness white LED. Dott Technology says the method to produce white light and the composition of phosphor was different from the traditional combination of blue LED and yellow phosphor. There were various host types of phosphor and can produce much higher brightness white light than yellow phosphor. This invention would be expected to be a new direction of white LED industry.
