What is The Plant H2.Oasis Bag?
This product was developed by the prestigious Beijing Tsinghua University together with the co-operation of the Chinese Government to address China’s drought stricken areas.
1. The Plant H2.Oasis Bag (H20-Bag) is a neutralized cross-linked co-polymer or partially neutralized acrylic.
2. In its dry form the powder has a crystalline structure.
3. Upon contact with water the crystals expand to form a gel-like suspension.
4. The polymers are essentially insoluble in water.
5. By placing the full water soaked bag next to the root zone of a plant, it releases the water to meet the growth needs of the plant.
6. The large size bag weighs around 15grams and when fully charged holds 1.2 Liters or approximately 1 Kilo of H2O bag, this equates to about 98% water content.
7. The regular size bag weighs around 5 grams and when charged weighs around 300 grams again equating to approximately 98% water.
8. There are other water conservation products on the available but Plant H2.Oasis Bag is unique because the polymers have a memory that allows the bag to be fully rechargeable by either applying water or rain. Also, the Plant H2.Oasis Bag contains the crystals are in a bag (just like a bucket) so you do not get crystals mixed up in your soil or compost. It clean and safe.
‘How to’ and Tips for Use of the Plant H2.Oasis Bag
1. Recharging should occur between 20-30 days to maximize its use and the life of the product.
2. Test using the Plant H2.Oasis Bag have shown that H2.Oasis can make nursery-grown plants live 20-30 days or more without a drop of extra water.
3. A soluble plant additive (liquid seaweed) can be added to the water and the bag will absorb and slowly release into the root zone of the plant. So, the H2.Oasis Bag can provide a measured focused source of plant nutrient with controlled release just at the right point to encourage strong and healthy root development.
4. The H2.Oasis Bag when fully charged needs to be covered with soil or mulch. It is biodegradable and will break down if exposed to direct sunlight.
5. Although rainfall or watering will recharge the Plant H2.Oasis Bag, more efficient rehydration will occur if and the H2.Oasis Bag is removed and soaked again in a water container – this enables additional liquid seaweed to be added as a nutrient.
