Healing, like all other biological processes, is a cellular process. The injury immediately triggers this process, which continues until the injury healed. Although the exact mode of work is not yet understood, it is clear that a feedback mechanism to monitor and adjust the level of tissue damage cellular activity in the injured area to produce a certain amount of healing needed.

As used herein, the term " injury" refers to tissue damage or injuries of any kind, including but not limited to cuts, incisions ( including surgical incisions) , abrasions, cuts, broken bones, bruises, burns, and amputations.

Three Types of Wound Healing Process

Wound healing process can be classified into three types, determined by how the cells in the injured area to react to injury:

The simplest type of the first or the type of healing is healing scarification ( scarring) , where cells at the wound edges to produce collagen and elastic fibers that bind only the wound edges together, without restoring the severed nerves or blood vessels. This species produces visible scar healing, and sometimes produce numbness and lack of blood circulation in the injured area and an additional distal region. In higher animals, including humans, heart, skeletal muscle, and nerve tissue ( including brain) cured with scarification.

The second type of healing is the replacement of tissues, where cells from several tissues of the body to produce more cells than their own kind to replace the missing part. In humans, skin and digestive tract recover part of the replacement. In this type of healing, the rate of replacement of cells in the injured area to increase to produce sufficient quantities of cells to help heal the injury, then returned to normal after healing is complete.

Replacement is quite effective only if the normal cells of the type required in the area, and only for a particular cell type that is able to heal in this way. These cells multiply rapidly, then become active and show a variety of energetic processes including amitotic division, nuclear transfer, migration to the core network of residue-free, and the production of cells that are very large nucleus containing material from the cell de-differentiation of individual ( thus, " activated cells" are cells undergoing this process) .

Activation results in the accumulation of rapid embryonic cell mass known as the large buds, an important element for regeneration. These buds can be seen as a provider of biological raw materials needed to rebuild the lost tissue.

In the second stage of the process of regeneration, embryonic stem cells have specialization in a variety of cell types needed to rebuild the lost tissue and structures prepared with a complete anatomical detail. Rebuilding process is basically a recapitulation ( albeit on a local scale) of embryonic development that replaced the original tissue.

In vertebrates, regenerative healing is found in certain species of amphibians ( especially salamanders. It is almost not at all exist in humans, except in fetuses and children are very young ( which may regenerate the distal tip of the finger if the wound is left open) . In adults , regeneration is largely limited to parts of the fracture healing process. The mechanism of silver ions in helping to rebuild the network has been studied for over a decade by Dr. Robert O. Becker, MD, Becker Biomagnetics, Lowville, New York. Dr. Robert O. Becker' s first reported his findings at the First International Conference on Silver and Gold in Medicine, sponsored by The Silver Institute in 1987.
