Information

Diatrizoate Meglumine + Diatrizoate Sodium is a diagnostic drug, 76 of its solution contains 136mmol/ L sodium ions, similar to plasma concentration. Its influence on cardiac muscle cells is slight. Sodium amidotrizoate is an ionic monosonic iodide medium. Iodine absorbs many x-rays, creates density contrast with surrounding tissues and thus forms images. In the direct approach, the contrast medium is directly instilled into blood vessels or other cavities to show their conditions. In the physiological absorption approach, the contrast medium, instilled into blood vessels, enters diseased spots through damaged blood vessels or damaged blood brain barrier ( BBB) to show their conditions. Urinary tracts are shown when excreted via the kidney. Diatrizoate meglumine acts the same as sodium amidotrizoate.

Used in urography, cardiac angiography, brain angiography, other organ and peripheral angiography, enhanced CT, and other cavity and fistul radiography. Also used in coronary arteriongraphy
