Beautiful peace of carving created by the Tikar people of the Centre province of Cameroon.These people have one of the brilliant civilisations in Cameroon and were renowned for their carvings and bronze foundary.As inhabitants of one of the thickest forests of Cameroon,they had developped the art of carving and sculpting to create not only ceremonial items but also tools like axes, sword matchets and even culinary tools.
This was initially cerated as a ceremonial mask.
