Cables for mining and excavating are designed to connect mining movable machines and mechanisms, mining equipment and appliances to power systems at rated voltage of 660, 1140 and 6000V AC, 50Hz at main conductors and up to 220V at auxiliary conductors. Cables are used in underground mining, open-pits and shale workings. Constructional features of cables allow them to be used in harsh environments, for example, high and long-term humidity, frequent bending, and exposure to mechanical stress, oils, petroleum and acids. Electroconductive core screens along conductor insulation provide for power system shutdown in case of a cable fault, thus preventing potential methane explosion in mines.
