This bait is very versatile and because it sinks you can fish it at various depths and speeds. Do not be afraid to experiment with the retrieve until a consistent pattern is identified. Most anglers casting the lure will find that a steady retrieve will provide the most dependable results although an erratic retrieve from steady to very fast may be more effective on some waters. The lure may also be trolled or fished as a top water bait by elevating the rod tip slightly during the retrieve.
