Sea Cucumbers Snap Culinary Tour:
08 a.m.: Participants will be picked up at hotel and leaving for Kenjeran village. Kenjeran is a name of the coast line located in eastern Surabaya city. Kenjeran village is divided into four livelihood specialties. They are sea cucumber snap maker, salty fish maker, fisherman, and smoked fish maker.
09 a.m.: Arrive at Kenjeran village to prepare the hunt for sea cucumber. It involves the using of traditional equipment like mini speedboat with 6 capacities and the sea cucumber grabber (shape like metal big fork) and dragged with boat. Less than an hour about 100 kg of sea cucumber automatically collected.
10 a.m.: Upon colleting the sea cucumber, the tour participants is going back to the village to observed the making process of sea cucumber snap. The processes are cleaning the sea cucumber from dirt and sand, and then put them into steaming and drying process in order to eliminate the slime and the smell. Upon dried, steaming process will be done for the second time. Upon well cooked, it will be dried for the second time as well. The process itself need 8 hours dried in the sun (depends on the weather) until the water content drop to 50%. The procedure will be continue to frying process using hot sand until they are crunchy and ready to consume. The snap completely healthy, delicious, and salty event no flavors are involve during the making.
12 p.m.: Lunch at the local restaurant.
01 p.m.: Continue the tour to Taman Ria Kenjeran to visit the traditional market that provides souvenirs, handicrafts, and snap.
01.30 p.m.: The tour ends and going back to hotel.
