Oil skimmers have a good reputation for fighting oil catastrophes - as recently seen
off the coast of Spain. They run reliably and are powerful. The oil is extracted from
the water and then separated, allowing it to be disposed of.
Precisely for this reason, manufacturers of complete systems for oil skimming were
in the market for a reliable,sturdy pump, which can also pump greatly varying
quantities. The separated oil must be drawn in automatically by the pump.
Moreover, good performance at a low system weight is required.
All these requirements are met by VOGELSANG rotary lobe pumps. V100QHD
series rotary lobe pumps are an inherent part of many skimmer units.. Driven by a
hydraulic or electromotor, they have a high pump capacity with a compact, light
design. As positive displacement pumps, they are self-priming, and cope easily with
