Why you need Blocking reactor?
The presence of variable speed drives, soft starters, rectifiers and UPS in electrical systems inevitably give rise to harmonic distortions in electrical systems. Such power disturbance will not only damage switch gears and other auxiliary equipment, in particular it will overheat capacitor banks intended for power factor correction. ELCO Blocking Reactor is designed to block out harmonics above the detuned frequency of 189Hz with blocking factor of 7% . It features a built-in thermostat to cut off at 135 degree Celcius as safety protection. For best result, it is recommended to use ELCO Clocking Reactor with ELCO capacitor bank in 525V.
