- Fiber Identifier
Optical Fiber Identifier is a low cost, portable instrument designed to detect optical signals without disrupting traffic. During maintenance, installations, rerouting or restorations, it’s often necessary to isolate a specific fiber. By simply clamping the identifier onto a fiber, the identifier will indicate if there is a signal, a Modulated Signal, or traffic and show signal direction.
The Identifier is recommended for both 0.25/ 0.9 mm bare fiber and 3mm jacketed fiber. When testing coated fibers, the slim design of the identifier allows easier access to a splice tray where the amount of work space is limited. The clamping trigger is designed to fit the natural motion of the operator’s hand. A highly impact molded plastic case makes the identifier suitable for use outside plant or in the central office.
- Visual Fault Locator
Visual Fault Locator is a 650nm Laser Source with an output power of 7mW used in SM or MM fiber. Two AAA batteries support VFL work continually up to 30 hours. Grandway employs her specific design for VFL output port that makes output adapter truly universal compared to other products, VFL has an FC adapter but it is very friendly to SC and ST connection without needing any other type of adapters.
VFL is an ideal instrument for patchcord broken or bending, especially for fiber identification in ribbon or bunched optic fiber pigtails installation, in which identifying fiber from end to end may be troublesome or time-consuming
