Description: simvastatin ( simvastatin) is a fermentation product of Aspergillus terreussynthetic derivatives, statins ( statin) lipid-lowering drugs for controlling blood cholesterol levels and prevent cardiovascular disease.
Pharmacological effects:
methyl-hydroxyl coenzyme A
( HMG-COA) reductase inhibitors, inhibit endogenous cholesterol synthesis, the lipid regulating agent.

Physical Properties: white or white crystalline powder. This product is soluble inchloroform, acetonitrile, methanol and ethanol, slightly soluble in propylene glycol, very slightly soluble in hexane, almost insoluble in water.
