Fumigation is one treatment according to regulation of International Standard for Phytosanitary Measure No.15 and accordingly also with Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service ( AQIS STANDARDS)
This fumigation is chemical treatment to commodity or packaging both for quarantine purpose or others.
Fumigation take places for 24 hours at minimum 10 degree and this will be finished when gas free concentration maximum at 5 PPM.
For quarantine purpose, Methyl Bromide is used as much as 48 gram / m3 as procedure regulated.
Fumigation purpose is to prevent or to kill insect , termite and others. Wood packaging that has been fumigated will be stamped by using IPPC or ISPM
It is able to use in the container, out of container and pallet fumigation
